Singltrek pod Smrkem: legendary Jizera Mountain trails for families and experienced riders
Practical Information
Singltrek pod Smrkem is one of Czechia’s best-known trail areas, with more than 60 km of natural one-way MTB trails between Nové Město pod Smrkem, Lázně Libverda and the Polish side of the Jizera Mountains, plus Singltrek Centrum, rental, service, refreshments, a swimming pool and camping facilities.
Singltrek pod Smrkem is a Czech trail classic. It is not a lift-served downhill bikepark, but a broad network of natural singletrails where riding flow, bike handling and endurance matter.
The trails lie on the northern side of the Jizera Mountains, mainly between Nové Město pod Smrkem, Lázně Libverda and partly across the Czech-Polish border. The main base is Singltrek Centrum by the natural swimming pool in Nové Město pod Smrkem.
Why visit
The area is ideal for riders who want long forest singletrails without a lift. There are easy family-friendly routes, longer red loops and harder black sections.
Trails
Start with the green Nástupní and blue Hřebenáč if it is your first visit. Stronger riders can continue to Obora, Libverdská strana, Nad Czerniawou or the black Hejnický hřeben.
Prices and rental
Trail access is free. A voluntary contribution supports maintenance. Singltrek Centrum offers bike rental, including hardtails, full-suspension bikes, e-bikes and children’s bikes.
Watch out for
Check trail status before going. Closures can happen due to logging, repairs, storm damage, wet spring conditions or snow. Most trails are one-way.
Summary
Singltrek pod Smrkem is one of the strongest trail destinations in Czechia: natural riding, varied difficulty, good facilities and beautiful Jizera Mountain scenery.
