Trutnov Trails: raw MTB trails from blue flow to black technical lines
Practical Information
A natural trail network near Trutnov with easy blue routes for warm-up and very technical red and black sections for stronger riders. Expect pedalling, rocks, roots and plenty of character rather than a polished lift-served bike park.
Why ride here
Trutnov Trails are not a polished lift-served bike park. This is a one-way MTB trail network around Čížkovy kameny and the Jestřebí Mountains, mixing easy flow, longer natural blue trails and much more technical red and black sections.
Who it suits
Beginners and families can stay on the blue trails, which the operator describes as suitable even for families with children. Stronger riders come mainly for the raw red and black lines. The official website describes the black trails as some of the hardest in the Czech Republic.
How it works
The season runs from 1 April to 31 October. There is no lift here, so you climb by pedalling and using the climbing trails. Main parking is at Popílkové jezero. The base and Lhotanka restaurant are at Lhotecká 6, with broader opening hours in summer.
Facilities
The site lists the Lhotanka restaurant and the trail base. The SCOTT rental page was marked as currently out of service when checked, so anyone needing a bike should verify availability in advance. Instead of a classic bike pass, the trail centre asks visitors for a voluntary maintenance contribution.
Watch out
Check official trail status before leaving. In wet weather, the technical sections can feel much harder. A decent mountain bike is enough for the blue trails, but a trail or enduro bike makes much more sense on the red and black sections.
